    The Authors

    Naomi Bahm is a professor of Psychology at Cosumnes River College, part of the Los Rios Community College District in Sacramento, California. She earned her B.A. in Biology and Psychology from the College of Saint Benedict (Saint Joseph, Minnesota), followed by serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the aquaculture program in Cameroon, Africa. She then earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley, combining electroencephalograph (EEG) methods and the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI). Naomi now spends part of her “free” time as an AAI trainer. In addition to teaching, she enjoys reading, sewing, and spending time with family and friends (especially outdoors).

    Bucky Bhadha
    Bucky Bhadha has taught a range of psychology and development courses.  She got her bachelor's degree in India and then graduate degrees from the School of Education, and Department of Psychology at the University of Southern California.  She sees herself as an antiracism advocate working through open educational resources, open pedagogy, and the Prison Education Project.  In her free time, Bucky enjoys playing board games with family and traveling.

    Alan Keys
    Alan Keys is a Professor of Psychology at Sacramento City College where he has been teaching courses and labs in Biological Psychology, Psychopharmacology, and Research Methods since 2000.  During his tenure at SCC, he also served for many years as the Faculty Research Coordinator where he worked with faculty on classroom-based research and played a key role in the initial development of Student Learning Outcome Assessment across the college. Alan completed his doctoral studies in Behavioral Neuroscience at UCLA and postdoctoral work at Oregon Health Sciences University where he did extensive work with animal models of drug abuse with a primary focus on the connection between drug-seeking behavior and alterations in neural circuitry associated with reward.  He has remained passionate about the field of Biological Psychology and is committed to inspiring students to discover their own calling and to provide them with the tools and support to pursue them.
    Kenneth Koenigshofer
    Kenneth Koenigshofer
    Kenneth Koenigshofer received his Ph.D. in physiological psychology from the University of California, Riverside, and is now retired after 38 years of teaching at Chaffey College, California State Polytechnic University at Pomona, and the University of Maryland.  He is author of Mind Design: The Adaptive Organization of Human Nature, Minds, and Behavior (Pearson, 2010), revised as an e-book edition in 2016.  His research focus on the evolution of cognition and intelligence led to publication of his theory of the evolution of general intelligence in the Spring 2017 volume (38:2) of the Journal of Mind and Behavior.  Ken and his family live in a beach town north of San Diego.

    Kevin Smith
    Kevin R. Smith is a professor of psychology at Rio Hondo college. He earned his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of California, Irvine in 2008 doing functional MRI work on the auditory system. His hobbies include gardening and trying to hear as much live music as possible.
