It starts with recognizing what it means to identify obstacles that prevent you from being an effective listener. It should be clear that active listening takes work. That if you want to be effective, you need to apply yourself to practicing and improving your listening skills. As you begin enhancing these skills, it helps to have strategies that assist you in your endeavor.
