    Dr. Heather M. Carter

First and foremost, I want to thank my co-author, Dr. Amber Tankersley, for her open mind and heart as we researched and pursued this project. She could have easily said, now is not the time, with all that she had on her plate at the time of proposing this project, but instead she embraced it with a flexibility that is unmatched.

To the Family and Consumer Sciences program and Teaching and Leadership Department (TCHLS), I appreciate your support and encouragement to continue Amber and I's weekly working groups and the interest you've shown in learning more about our OER text.

To Meghna Singh, our TCHLS graduate assistant that very quickly volunteered to help with some of the editing and proof-reading.

Finally, my family- thank you, Richard, for allowing me time to research, write, and edit during the evenings and on weekends. Your support in keeping our three boys busy so mom could work helped move this project along at an extraordinary pace. You are an amazing human, and I'm so appreciative of you.

To my parents, who allowed the boys to sleep over and have grandparent time so Richard could have a break and I had uninterrupted time to write all day.

To Alex, Ben, and Colton- this book is dedicated to you, your little minds, and all the wisdom you've imparted on me as your mom and as an early childhood professional. I love you.

    Dr. Amber Tankersley

I want to thank Dr. Heather Carter for proposing the idea of curating and creating a textbook. I enjoyed our weekly work sessions and was always amazed at the progress that was made, sprinkled with a bit of fun.

I am thankful to work in a department that supports new ideas!

I am excited for students to have access to a "textbook" that fits the needs of our introductory early childhood course so beautifully!
