    Conclusion for Supporting Brain Development in Group Care

    During the first three years of a child’s life, the brain is rapidly developing and is highly plastic–changing based on experiences received. Through the everyday interactions caregivers have with infants and toddlers, we have the opportunity to positively impact the trajectory of their brain development. When infants and toddlers receive sensitive and responsive caregiving, develop a secure attachment, are exposed to a higher quantity and quality of language and engage in more turn-taking synchronous interactions, we set them on a path toward optimal brain development.
