    Introducción a las teorías del desarrollo cognitivo

    Los primeros tres años de vida de un niño están llenos de numerosas experiencias nuevas, desde las experiencias sensoriales de la primera infancia hasta las diversas oportunidades que brindan el desarrollo motor y del lenguaje. Basta con pensar en la diferencia de experiencias entre un bebé que aún no se desplaza y un bebé que ya puede caminar de manera independiente. Cada experiencia, ya sea novedosa o repetida, apoya el desarrollo de su cognición. La cognición se refiere a los procesos de pensamiento y memoria, y el desarrollo cognitivo se refiere a los cambios en estos procesos a lo largo del tiempo. Esta sección le presentará las principales teorías del desarrollo cognitivo, con especial atención a las teorías de Jean Piaget y Lev Vygotsky. [1]
