Write an essay answering the following questions:
- What obstacles stood in the way of bill passage? How did partisan differences influence the legislative process?
- How did the committee process determine what changes would be included in the final bill version?
- How was the legislative process influenced by lobbyists and constituents who participated in the decision-making?
- What reforms could make the legislative process more efficient or democratic?
- Which social groups are affected by our bill, and how?
Requirements:
- Read the assignment/discussion topic instructions carefully and do the necessary readings and research
- Explain your answers in detail.
- Write at least 400 words total.
- Respond to the posts of two of your peers. Responses to peers should raise significant points of agreement and/or disagreement, and encourage peers to reflect upon their responses and positions taken in their initial posts.
- If you can, please respond to any questions from other students regarding your postings (this is not mandatory).
