    Introduction to Agricultural Geography, Natural Resources, and Sustainable Development

    Agricultural geography examines the spatial patterns and processes associated with agriculture and its impact on the environment and society. This chapter delves into the intricate relationship between agricultural practices and urban cultures, exploring how environmental agriculture and the industrialization of agriculture shape our world. We will contrast subsistence farming with commercial agriculture, highlighting the global changes in food practices and agricultural methods.

    The chapter covers diverse agricultural practices, from cultivation and pastoralism to mixed crop, grain, and dairy farming, livestock ranching, and plantation farming. We'll explore agricultural activities worldwide, including wet rice cultivation, slash and burn techniques, and the role of cadastral patterns such as township and range and metes and bounds.
