    1. In your own words, what is a sociological theory and why do sociologists use them?
    2. Which sociological perspective (functionalism, conflict theory, symbolic interactionism, intersectionality, or critical race theory) do you think best explains racial inequality today? Why?
    3. What is the difference between assimilation and pluralism? Which do you think is healthier for a diverse society?
    4. How does the sociological imagination help us connect personal challenges (like paying for college or finding housing) to larger social structures?
    5. Can you think of an example in your community where power, privilege, or oppression is visible? How might one of the theories explain it?
