    1. How does the concept of tribal sovereignty challenge the way we usually think about the U.S. government and citizenship? Consider why Indigenous nations are recognized as sovereign and how this complicates ideas of borders, laws, and national identity.

    2. In what ways do the effects of colonization continue to shape Indigenous communities today? Think beyond history textbooks. Consider land loss, healthcare, education, environmental issues, or cultural survival.

    3. Why is it important to distinguish between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation when discussing Indigenous cultures? Can you think of real-world examples where this line is crossed, especially in media, fashion, or sports?

    4. How does internationality help us better understand the experiences of Indigenous women and Two-Spirit people? Why might focusing on only one identity (such as race or gender alone) fail to capture the full picture?

    5. What responsibilities, if any, do non-Indigenous people have in addressing historical and ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous nations? Should this responsibility be individual, institutional, governmental or shared? Why?
