    Dr. Wendy D. Bratina has over 30 years of combined experience in academia and in the mental health and counseling field. She has taught at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College (HACC) from 2003 to the present, first as an adjunct for ten years teaching Psychology, and then since 2013 as the Program Director for the Human Services program where she prepares students for entry into the human services profession. In May 2020, she was the recipient of the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award and was recognized at the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence sponsored by the University of Texas in Austin, TX.

    Her background in the mental health field includes work in crisis intervention, advocacy, Family Based Mental Health Services, and prevention work in the school setting.  In addition to her responsibilities at her community college, she is an Outpatient therapist and serves individuals and families who are stepping down from Family Based Mental Health Services.   

    Dr. Bratina completed her undergraduate degree in Behavioral Sciences with a concentration in Psychology at Penn State University (1991).  She earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology at Millersville University (1993) and is certified as a Secondary School Counselor through Shippensburg University of PA (2009).  In 2018, she obtained her doctoral degree in Higher Education from Immaculata University.  Her dissertation was titled: “Student Perceptions of Faculty-Student Interactions in Cohort/Non-Cohort Educational Leadership Doctoral Programs.”
