It is to be expected that the end of your practicum may bring a variety of feelings swirling toward you.  You may be relieved that it is over, or you may be excited to be graduating and DONE! 😊  There are some practical items to consider at this time.  These include saying goodbye to clients, your site supervisor, and your colleagues at the agency.  Additionally, you will have a final evaluation by your supervisor at the agency and your experience will be graded.  Some students will have a job offer on the table, and may not be leaving, but instead, entering into a new role as a paid employee.

Taking time to write a thank you note to your supervisor is always a good idea.  It is certainly a small world and you are likely to run into that person again.  Plus, it is simply good to thank a person who helped you in your formation as a human service professional.  All of these considerations are also happening at a time when you are stressed at the end of the semester.  Take a moment to reflect on your learning. Take stock of what areas you did well in, and those for which you may need to refine your skills.  Finally, give yourself credit for all the hard work you did over the practicum experience.  You did it!
