    Quote

"And when a portion is completed, whether that’s [sic] chapter, whether that’s survey item, whether that’s looking for a coefficient value, whatever it is, I just feel so delighted with me. [laughs] and I feel achieved, so there’s you know, a sense of ‘all right Me! You go Me!’" (Graduate student participant as cited in Droog et al. 2024, p. 839)

    Congratulations!!

You finished your literature review! Take some time to truly celebrate! You might revisit the mini-celebration ideas from the end of Unit 5 or plan something larger this time.

    Reflect

Look back at your drawing from the beginning of this journey. At the end of this current trail, would you draw research the same way? Has anything changed for you? Draw or write what has shifted, if anything.

    Text Box

Review your reflections from the end of each unit (Develop your topic; Find Citations; Find Patterns; Dive Deeper; Add Your Voice). Chart your emotional journey over the course of this trail. What was consistent? Where were the highs and lows? In your journal, depict your emotional journey. Consider using colors or an ebbing & flowing wave to depict the change over a timeline.

    Text Box

What skills or techniques did you learn? Which make you the most proud?

    Text Box

Reflect on the journey. What were the biggest roadblocks? How did you overcome it - or are you still navigating it? What does this teach you about your resilience & the research process?

    Text Box

Who were your best supporters? Did you support yourself?

    Next Steps

Depending on your assignment and your interest, you might need to go beyond writing a literature review. To learn ways to translate your research into other forms of dissemination, continue to the next page.
