How you say something is just as important as what you say. The upbeat tone of a sports broadcaster would probably not be appropriate, if you are delivering a eulogy. A humorous anecdote would probably be inappropriate during a military briefing. After you have organized the main points of your message, it is important to consider the best way to send (present) your message to your receiver (listener) so they accurately decode your message. Whether having a conversation with friend or presenting a speech, you want to speak with confidence. There are three component to speaking with confidence: mental preparation, physical preparation and verbal preparation.
