    By the end of Chapter 8, students will be able to:

    SLO 8.1: Describe the historical evolution of leadership theory and its relevance to early childhood education.

    SLO 8.2: Identify and compare key types of leadership styles, including Great Man Theory, Trait Theory, Style Theory, and Learned Needs Theory.

    SLO 8.3: Analyze the impact of toxic leadership and how to recognize ineffective or harmful leadership traits.

    Chapter 8 explores how leadership theories have evolved from top-down industrial models to more collaborative, constructivist paradigms. It examines key theories, such as Great Man Theory, Trait Theory, Leadership Styles Theory, and Theory of Learned Needs, and how these inform different approaches to leadership in ECE settings. It also encourages reflection on how these types of leadership styles influence educational environments and relationships.
