    1. Compare and contrast Abolition/Prison studies with Surveillance Studies. How do the two theorize notions of freedom and liberation? Outline how they complement each other, detailing in what ways they are similar, different, and build on or extend the goals of the other.
    2. Research the three movements of Black Radical Traditions outlined in the chapter. Identify ways gender was utilized as a method and technology to realize liberation. Detail the ways the movements benefited from women, queer people, disabled, or other marginalized groups. If your research produces an absence of examples, theorize how the absence problematicized these spaces as solely masculine, abled, and heteronormative spaces. The goal is to uncover and elevate those historically erased within the movements and create a more expansive narrative of the labor towards liberation from an intersectional lens.
    3. Review the goals, desires, and primary actions of abolition work defined in this chapter (negation, dispossession, fugitivity). Select a social media platform and identify examples of nontraditional, non-political (e.g. marching or protesting against agents of the state) nonnormative abolition work performed by Black persons seeking to (re)define, (re)imagine, and realize liberation for Black bodies. Analyze how the actions of the person(s) align with goals, desires, and primary actions of abolition work defined in this chapter. What actions can be taken to support their efforts?
