    Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperature, precipitation, and weather patterns. While natural cycles exist, the speed and intensity of current changes are unprecedented in human history.

    • Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄), and nitrous oxide (N₂O) trap heat in Earth’s atmosphere.

    • Since the Industrial Revolution, CO₂ levels have risen over 50%, leading to an average global temperature increase of about 1.1°C (NASA, 2023).

    • The consequences include melting ice caps, rising seas, shifting agricultural zones, stronger storms, and mass species extinction.

    The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warns that without urgent action, warming could exceed 1.5°C within decades, triggering catastrophic and irreversible impacts (IPCC, 2021).
