Academic Skills Application: Test-taking

Academic skills including test-taking strategies are explained in depth in the Academic Success Strategies chapter of this OER textbook. We’re going to use the content of this chapter to practice a technique for answering multiple-choice test questions.

Please review this chapter and look for the section headings 5.1 through 5.4. Write a question “stem,” the first part of a multiple choice question, for each of those section headings. Then write three possible answer choices, one of which you know to be correct. Read each of the questions you created with each answer choice as true/false statements. See how the correct answer choice creates a true statement while the incorrect answer choices are false statements?

This application exercise also just allowed you to create a small practice quiz for this chapter which is another application of your knowledge.
