Strengths, also known as skills, are another personal element or “filter” through which to examine whether a career may appeal to you. Just as you can use your interests, personality preferences and values as filters, determining whether your skills match what is required in a profession is a way to measure or analyze that potential career. A skill is something you can do, say, or think right now. Employers expect you to bring your strengths and skills to the workplace to improve the overall operations of the organization. If your career allows you to use skills you already possess and develop new skills in which you’re interested, that career will be rewarding and fulfilling to you.
