Dr. Linda Perez, whose compassion and insight taught me to see every child as capable and full of promise.

Dr. Diane Ketelle, whose gentle guidance helped me find my scholarly voice and supported me as I wrote my first book. Her continued inspiration has strengthened my work as an author and reminded me that our stories are the bridges between theory and humanity.
Their influence lives in every page of this textbook and in every reflection on relationships, leadership, and care. Together, they helped shape my belief that by preparing educators, we have the opportunity to positively influence not just one child or one family, but countless children and families across generations.
