    1. Why does clothing change over time? Why can’t fashion and clothing choices remain the same? Use examples from your home country, history, movies, fashion magazines, and/or knowledge of another culture to explain possible answers.

    2. When fashion changes, so cultures lose something in the process? In other words, is a part of that culture forgotten if, as we saw with the Chinese, traditional clothes are replaced by modern Westernized fashion?

    3. Are “cultural costumes,” like the Halloween costumes shown above, appropriate to wear? In other words, is being “a Chinese person” for Halloween harmless fun or does wearing this type of costume perpetuate racial and ethnic stereotypes?
