    1. Is culture becoming “dumbed down” by commercialism and new waves of pop culture icons (e.g., iPhones, Billie Eilish, video-sharing social networking services, like TikTok and Snapchat, etc.)? What good can come from pop culture spreading to other countries? What bad could come from it?

    2. Is American pop culture having a negative or a positive effect on the rest of the world? Do you think countries should start rejecting pop culture icons that are damaging cultural norms and traditions?

    3. Discuss your favorite pop culture icons from your home country, as well as from foreign countries. Try to think of pop culture icons that come from both Eastern countries and Western countries. What is appealing about them? Do you think pop culture will change tremendously in the twenty years? How?
