This text provides an introduction to the basic principles and methods of oral communication with emphasis on improving speaking and listening skills in the multicultural contexts of interpersonal, small group, and public communication. Students will develop and apply effective research strategies. This text is built from chapters from Communication in the Real World and Public Speaking Project to create a Fundamentals of Oral Communication book [CID:COMM115 and CID:COMM180] for use by De Anza College. This course meets the Oral Communication GE requirement.
