    • Describe the purpose of academic reading and what an instructor might expect of you after reading

    Directions

    1. Review the main types of academic reading and the purpose of academic reading.
    2. Imagine you are an instructor for a class. This could be a class you are currently taking or one you would like to see offered.
    3. Identify three academic readings that you would assign to your students.
    4. Explain why you would assign these works and what you would expect your students to learn or do after reading them.
