This course looks at the biology behind these and other everyday experiences. You’ll learn about the neurons in your body and how they communicate, the various structures of the brain, and how the brain processes information from the world around us and produces behavior. You’ll see how scientists study the brain, from early case studies to today's brain-imaging tools, and the ethical considerations that guide that research. This course also explores real-world topics like drug effects on the brain and the biological roots of various mental disorders.
