I expect to build the book out to an area of advanced studies suitable for graduate research and even applicability to journalism. Before I became a community-college Instructor, I was trained as a journalist. I have concerns about the state of that aspect of communication especially as regards to reporting and free speech around the world. So, as you can see, this text will eventually expand to include things not often seen in a standard undergraduate class, and I think this speaks to the possibilities of this field of study within the larger discipline. There are downsides to having a huge, omnibus volume, primarily cost and awkwardness. But given that specific chapters can be omitted or included simply by using--or not--their URL, the more robust offering need not be a problem. Likewise, there are no cost factors to expanding the content.
