- Intercultural Communication (Pruett-Bakersfield College)
- Introduction to intercultural communication in domestic and/or global contexts. Influence of cultures, languages, and social patterns on how members of groups relate among themselves and with members of different ethnic and cultural groups. Theory and knowledge of effective communication within and between cultures. Appreciation and comparison of communication among diverse groups within the larger context of American culture. Practical application of skills will be highlighted.
- Strategies for Success in a Nursing Program (Harding and Merritt)
- This course will provide information and skills that facilitate student success in any college-level course as well as in the allied health programs. An overview of the registered Nursing program requirements and expectations are discussed. Career options, time management skills, budget management, personal values, and cultural diversity are additional topics of exploration.
