Chapter 3 Short Overview 
This chapter examines temperament as the biologically influenced individual differences that shape how children respond to people, experiences, and their environments. It introduces the temperament dimensions and the flexible, feisty, and slow-to-warm-up styles identified by Thomas and Chess while emphasizing that children rarely fit neatly into a single category. The chapter also explores goodness of fit and how culture, neurodiversity, environment, and adult responses influence the expression of temperament.
