Nick Chivers earned his Master’s Degree in Communication Studies from San Francisco State University in 2013. During his MA program he focused on Critical Theory and Gender & Sexual Identities. After graduating, he was an adjunct instructor at several bay area universities and community colleges, including De Anza College in Cupertino, CA, where Nick earned tenure in Spring of 2021. Since joining De Anza, Nick has focused on critical perspectives to pedagogy, presenting on the topic regularly at conferences and conventions, and delivered a TEDx Talk in 2019 titled “Grades Aint It: A Case for Redefining Success in College.” Nick lives in Sonoma County, is a husband and father of two, and a lover of distance running, escape rooms, and ska music. |

Nicole Stibbard is a Part-Time Faculty Instructor at De Anza College. She has her BA from Cal Poly Humboldt and her MA from San Francisco State University, both in Communication Studies. Throughout her academic journey, her focus has been to utilize a feminist lens to dissect heteropatriarchy, patriarchal binarism, and sexual infantilization of women and girls. Her hobbies include art, collecting, and gaming. |
