    I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Chabot College’s Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative. The funding I received through this program played a vital role in making this textbook possible. I am especially appreciative of the leadership and vision of Chabot College President Jamal Cooks and OER/ZTC Coordinator Dr. Cristina Moon, whose guidance and commitment to accessible, high quality learning materials were instrumental in this project’s success. I am also grateful to be able to leverage the LibreTexts platform to deliver this book to my students at zero cost. The ability to integrate additional zero cost resources via LibreTexts greatly enhanced the accessibility and quality of the materials. In addition, I want to acknowledge the broader Zero Textbook Cost initiative led by the California Community Colleges system. That initiative, supported by significant state funding, promotes zero cost course and degree pathways by using OER and other no cost instructional resources to reduce student expenses.

    I am deeply thankful to my family for their constant encouragement and understanding throughout the writing process, especially to my supportive and lovely wife whose patience, love, and belief in me sustained this work from start to finish.
