    A fundamental consideration in planning curriculum for individual children is being responsive to the competencies, experiences, interests, and needs of each child. California’s infant/toddler population includes children who are culturally diverse, linguistically diverse, diverse in ability, and from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Partnering with families is an important strategy for being responsive to individual children and for making curriculum individually and culturally relevant.[1]
