    Another of the three forms of rhetorical proofs described by Aristotle is that of pathos, or the appeal to emotion. Emotional appeals can be a very effective tool of persuasion, but it is also the appeal that is most ripe for manipulation. In this chapter, we will explore the concept of pathos, as well as how speakers can appeal to the audience's motivation and needs to achieve their persuasive goals.
