Choose and complete one of the three activities below:

    #1 – Interview an SID

Identify a Sports Information Director at a college or university, preferably one you would want to attend. Call or email him and ask if he could give your 5 or 10 minutes for an interview about his job.

Important: List each person you call on the Discussion Board so that we only have one person calling.

Your interview should be recorded in video format. It may be recorded or your cellphone or laptop. Once it is recorded and edited, it should be posted to YouTube or Vimeo. (If you don’t have a YouTube or Vimeo channel, get one.) Do NOT post to Google Drive. Most of the time, we are unable to open your video. After posting, post the URL to the Discussion Board, and comment on two other students’ videos.

#2 – Write an advance story about the next PGCC or other college athletic contest.

No more than 700 words. If you wish, you may write the story instead about a future game at the school whose SID you interviewed.

#3 – Write a story about the game.

You attended or watched the game. Now, write a story about the game. How did your team do? If you don’t regularly read the sports pages, read a couple of stories to get a feel for how sports reporters write their stories.

Here’s one example of a sports story:

Maryland’s woes deepen as the Terps take an 81-46 trouncing at Michigan
