The Role of School in our Society
Schools and schooling in the United States and were developed to facilitate learning, increase knowledge, skills and impart values based on the dominant culture(s) and structural systems (Larson, 2021). Formal education is commonly divided formally into such stages as infant/toddler, preschool, transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, elementary, middle school, high school and then career technical education, college, university and internships or apprenticeships.
